1. Extension Rod (Flexible Metal Rod)

A barbecue skewer was used for the extension rod because it was the correct size and relative stiffness, and could be acquired fairly cheaply.  When the skewer is attached to the clamp mechanism it functions very similarly to another hoodie restringing idea called “Re-Stringing It” on Youtube, which uses a rod with stiff ends and a flexible middle.
2. 3D Printing
Re-Stringer is constructed by one of Afinia™ 3D Printer, which is located within Drexel University's The Innovation Studio. The service is free of charge for Drexel's students, however, Group 8's research states that the cost for 3-D printing service is $ 55.00.
3. Adhesive (Hot Glue)

J-B Weld epoxy is selected due to its affordable price. Also, this epoxy can work well with stainless steel (which is the main ingredient of extension rod), and plastic.
4. Paperclip

The hinge pin holes have a diameter of 1.25mm and the thickness of a paperclip is 1mm. The hinge pin is as long as the width of the clamp: 8.5mm, and was cut from a paperclip. It is inserted through the hinge pin holes of the two clamp parts and glued at both sides of the outer clamp, so that it will not fall out but still allows the two parts to rotate.

5. Rubber Bands

The Rubber Bands serve as the locking mechanism for Prototype 4 of Re-Stringer, which allows strings of all sizes to be used in this device.
